The Story with Provisional Papers
Because you have found yourself a victim of a possibly paperhung sale, does not mean that you do not have a genuine dog, but it equally does not mean that APBTA Inc will register that dog or endlessly support you in breeding queried dogs.
Each case is taken on it's merits according to proof supplied. Don't turn up with a Beagle and expect it to be included in our Registry. That will NOT happen.
Your dog is provisionally papered on the basis that it is given the benefit of the doubt according to paperwork and/or proof supplied, and that you take responsibility for breeding that dog on ONLY with fully papered and verified dogs.
It seems that these provisos are not clear enough.
This registry expects you sterilise that queried dog given provisional status only, or at least not breed again to that dog for obvious reasons, i.e. the more you breed that unknown dog the further you dilute an already fragile gene pool.
That is why we expect that you will only breed the offspring of such a mating to a fully papered dog, and the same with subsequent breedings or we will not paper them.
We expect to see your queried dog appearing only in the 6th generation while everything else is verified and clean bred or there is no hope of a 6 gen from this Registry.
